Obama is the change that America has tried to hide

"If Obama were in any sense mediocre, he would be forgotten by now. He is, in fact, a remarkable human being, not perfect but humanly stunning, like King was and like Mandela is. He is the change America has been trying desperately and for centuries to hide, ignore, kill." ....
So now English newspapers are trying to tell us how to vote. Of course, I'm sure many of them would like to see the U.S. descend into the Socialist Economies that they have over there in Europe. What American DOESN'T need is more Socialism, more big government, more Government controls and regulations and more of the same of what they have in Europe. What I find amazing about Europe is that these guys have been around for thousands of years, and yet here comes America and in just a few hundred years becomes the pre-eminate Super Power of the world. We have an economy that is unmatched by any other country in the world, our populace enjoys a level of weath and comfort unmatched anywhere in the world, we drive the biggest cars, live in the biggest homes, have the most disposable income and live the most lavish lifestyles, yet the Europeans want us to be more like them, instead of them being more like us. Strange yet true, this is the world we live in.

  1. Disgusted. That's how I felt when I read this. How dare you, insult the intelligence and cultural identity, of 450 million Europeans when you claim we don't have a right to an opinion on the next President of the United States. You may not have noticed, but whoever get elected to be President has an enormous impact on world politics.
"Socialist Economies that they have over there in Europe"
I'm sorry? Did I hear that right? Socialist Economies? HA! That's ridiculous! Outside of Spain and Scandinavia, no major European Country is your perverted form of Socialist. Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Russia, Switzerland... they're all conservative.
"What American DOESN'T need is more Socialism"
Are you joking? If a Socialist Government got elected to the White House it would be the best thing that's happened to America since World War Two. You would have a healthcare system that works, a massive reduction in the pay checks of fat cats and the curtailing of Evangelicalism.
"What I find amazing about Europe is that these guys have been around for thousands of years, and yet here comes America and in just a few hundred years becomes the pre-eminate Super Power of the world."
That's because you didn't have to be subject to some of the most brutal and ugly wars in history. Plus, the fact that America had huge amounts of untapped resources just made it easier for you.
"We have an economy that is unmatched by any other country in the world"
The word "China" springs to mind.
"our populace enjoys a level of weath and comfort unmatched anywhere in the world"
And also the biggest Gini coefficient in the Western World. Gee, that's something to be proud of.
    "we drive the biggest cars"
And this makes you better than everybody else how? Is it so you can kill more pedestrians?
    "live in the biggest homes"
Is the planet just one big "my dick is bigger than yours" contest then?
"have the most disposable income and live the most lavish lifestyles"
Yeah, some of you do. What about the 12.3% of people stuck in poverty. I guess they're living lavish lifestyles in comparison to the Zimbabweans.
"yet the Europeans want us to be more like them"
That would solve many, if not all of the world's problems.
"instead of them being more like us"
The very concept makes me terrified.
"Strange yet true, this is the world we live in."
Yes, one dominated by Americans. Who happen to be mostly descended from Europeans.
